CV Craft

CV Craft helps you create, edit, preview, and export professional CVs (PDF, PNG, and Word-compatible formats), and provides on-device PDF tools such as merge, split, compress, image-to-PDF, protect / unlock, and sign.

Wherever possible, your CV content stays on your device. Some optional features (account sign-in, AI writing / voice-to-CV, and advertising) rely on trusted third-party services described below.

2.1 Information you provide

• CV / resume content: name, contact details, professional summary, work experience, education, skills, languages, projects, and any other text or media you enter into your CV.
• Profile photo and signatures: images you choose from your photo library or capture with the camera for your CV or PDF signature tools.
• Documents you process: PDF or image files you select for PDF tools. These files are processed to perform the action you request (for example merge or compress).
• Account information (when sign-in is enabled): email address, authentication credentials, and profile details handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Guest / local session: a local username or guest session stored on your device when you use the App without a full cloud account.
• AI prompts and voice input: text prompts or voice recordings you submit when using AI Assist, AI Studio, or voice-to-CV features.
• Support messages: information you send when you contact us by email or phone.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, and basic diagnostics needed to run the App.
• Advertising identifiers: when ads are enabled, Google AdMob and related Google advertising services may collect advertising IDs and interaction data according to their own policies and your device settings.
• Push notification tokens: if you allow notifications, your device may provide a token so we can send service or reminder notifications.

2.3 What we do not collect

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not collect precise GPS / continuous background location for CV Craft.
• We do not require access to your contacts, calendar, or SMS for core CV editing.

CV Craft may request the following permissions only when needed for a feature you use:

• Camera: to take a CV profile photo.
• Photo library / media: to choose a CV picture, signature image, or images for image-to-PDF tools.
• Microphone / audio: to record voice input for voice-to-CV and related AI features.
• Notifications: optional alerts related to the App.
• File / document access: to open and export PDFs and other files you choose.

You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.

We use the information described above to:

• Create, store, edit, preview, and export your CVs.
• Run PDF tools you request (merge, split, compress, convert, protect, unlock, sign).
• Provide optional AI writing, rewriting, and voice-to-CV features.
• Authenticate you when account sign-in is enabled.
• Remember local app preferences and session state.
• Show advertisements that help keep the App available.
• Respond to support requests and improve App reliability and usability.
• Comply with applicable laws and protect against misuse.

Optional AI features in CV Craft may send the content you provide (for example a prompt, selected CV text, or a voice recording) to OpenAI so we can generate or improve CV content or transcribe speech.

• AI processing happens only when you use an AI feature.
• Do not include sensitive information you do not want processed by a third-party AI provider.
• OpenAI processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. Review those documents if you use AI features.
• If no AI API key is configured, the App may run in a limited demo / mock mode and will not send live requests to OpenAI.

CV Craft may display banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob. Ad networks may use cookies, advertising IDs, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads.

• You can limit ad personalization through your device settings (for example Reset Advertising ID / Limit Ad Tracking on iOS, or Ads settings on Android).
• Google's use of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and AdMob policies.
• Ads can be disabled in App configuration; when disabled, no AdMob ads are shown.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these situations:

• On-device storage: your CVs and local session data are stored on your device (including via local storage mechanisms such as AsyncStorage / secure storage where applicable).
• Clerk: authentication and account management when sign-in features are enabled.
• OpenAI: content you submit for AI features.
• Google AdMob: advertising and measurement data when ads are enabled.
• System share sheet: when you export or share a file (PDF, PNG, Word-compatible document), you choose the destination app or contact. We do not control third-party apps you share to.
• Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the App, including:

• Preferring on-device storage for CV drafts and local session data.
• Using established providers (Clerk, OpenAI, Google) that maintain their own security controls.
• Using encrypted transport (HTTPS) for network requests to third-party services.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device locked, updated, and protected with a strong device passcode or biometrics.

• CV content on device: retained until you delete the CV inside the App or uninstall the App (which typically removes local App data).
• Exported / shared files: copies you save or share outside the App are under your control and the policies of the destination service.
• Account data: retained while your account is active and as needed for authentication and support.
• Support communications: retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for legitimate business records.
• Temporary cache files: generated during export or PDF processing and may be cleared by the App or the operating system.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your local CVs in the App, or request deletion of account / support data we control.
• Withdraw consent for optional permissions.
• Opt out of personalized advertising through device settings.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable law allows.

CV Craft is intended for users aged 16 and older (or the digital consent age in your country). The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through CV Craft, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

The mobile App itself does not use browser cookies in the same way a website does. It may use local storage, SDKs, and advertising identifiers for:

• Remembering local preferences and session state.
• Authentication (Clerk).
• Advertising and ad measurement (Google AdMob).
• Delivering AI features (OpenAI API calls you trigger).

CV Craft is developed and published by Achraf Lafkiri in Morocco. If you use cloud features (authentication, AI, advertising), your information may be processed in other countries where those providers operate, including the United States and other regions.

By using those features, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data-protection laws from your own.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we may also provide notice in the App or on this website.

Continued use of CV Craft after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
